I tried a couple of times to write a new post and couldn’t bring myself to publish. The world fell apart, kinda pulled itself back together for a while, and looks to tear itself right back to pieces in November. I stressed over posting opinions that could potentially be dangerous depending on who is making the rules. But in the end it really doesn’t matter. I’m pretty sure it’s just me here anyway. So I’m going to post what makes me happy and maybe earn my NetGalley advanced reading copies for a change. In the last several months I’ve gotten to read several cool Pagan books and cozy mysteries in exchange for an honest opinion. They’ve been great research for writing my own magickal cozy series. I plan to write proper reviews here and share them on NetGalley and my Goodreads account. Unlike in previous years, I don’t expect to set a planned schedule. Every time I actively try to plan ANYTHING the plans fall apart. It feels like lying and failing all rolled into one and my self esteem doesn’t need more of a beating.
That being said, I hope to post a new review soonish. I won my first physical copy of a book on Goodreads and it arrived in the mail this week. It won’t take long to read. Keep an eye out for my review of the latest book in the Record Shop Mystery series by Olivia Blacke. Rhythm and Clues will be in bookstores on March 26th. I can say now that I enjoyed the first two books in the series and am looking forward to returning to the quirky vinyl shop/cafe in Cedar Rivers, Texas for more music and murder.
Even if I really am my only reader, it’ll be nice to have all of these thoughts out of my head, not clogging what little memory bandwidth I have left these days.
